2022 Jeep Meridian SUV unveiled: Launch in June



Jeep has today revealed the seven-seater Meridian SUV in the Indian market. The Jeep Meridian SUV is basically an elongated version of the Compass and will be offered with 4×2 and 4×4 driving configurations. Roland Bouchara, CEO and Managing Director of Stellantis India said that the Jeep Meridian will be launched in the country in June this year.
The 2022 Jeep Meridian bookings will commence from May 2022. Additionally, it has been confirmed that a 6-seat version of the Jeep Meridian with captain seats in the middle row is also under consideration, and could be introduced at a later date. The Jeep Meridian has a localization level of 82%.
2022 Jeep Meridian: Interior


Inside the cabin, the Jeep Meridian seven-seater SUV gets a two-tone interior, with ‘Emperador’ brown seats, coupled with the black dashboard, steering wheel and door panels. Other features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, Alpine 9-speaker sound system, wireless charging, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera and automatic climate control. The second row can be reclined by 29 degrees, while the third row can be reclined by 32 degrees.
2022 Jeep Meridian: Exterior


The 2022 Jeep Meridian front facia is similar to the Compass whereas the rear-end features sleeker LED tail-lamps. It gets a powered liftgate that can be opened with the key fob too, and gets obstacle detection, anti-pinch sensing and customized tailgate opening height. The Meridian SUV sits on 18-inch diamond-cut dual-tone alloy wheels.
2022 Jeep Meridian: Engine


Similar to the Compass, the new Jeep Meridian is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine delivering a max power of 172 PS and a peak torque of 350 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic. Jeep Meridian has a top speed of 198 kmph and accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 10.8 seconds.
2022 Jeep Meridian: Safety features


The 2022 Jeep Meridian 7-seater SUV safety suite will consist of 7 airbags, traction control, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, blind-spot detection and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System).
2022 Jeep Meridian: Rivals
When launched, the 2022 Jeep Meridian will rival premium SUVs such as MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X and Skoda Kodiaq in the Indian market.
