2022 Yamaha MT-15 Version 2.0 and YZF-R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition launched in India

Yamaha Motor India today launched its new-gen MT-15 Version 2.0 at a starting price of Rs 1.6 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Also, Yamaha has introduced the YZF-R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition in India at Rs 1.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Based on the Yamaha R15 V4, the new-gen MT-15 V2.0 bookings have already commenced this month. The new MT-15 V2.0 is available in four new colour schemes – Cyan Storm and Racing Blue, Metallic Black and Ice Fluo-Vermillion. Some key highlights include a raised tail section and a side-slung upswept exhaust muffler.
Featuring a single-pod LED headlamp with LED DRLs, the naked streetfighter receives golden-coloured new front forks and a mono-shock set-up. Braking duties are handled by a 282mm disc at the front and 220 mm disc at the rear. It also gets a dual-channel ABS, 17-inch wheels shod with 100/80 front and 140/70 rear tubeless tyres. The bike has a kerb weight of 139 kg.
In terms of engine, the new Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 uses a 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with VVA technology churning out a power of 18.4 PS@10,000 rpm and 14.1 Nm torque@7,500 rpm. The engine is paired to a six-speed gearbox.
Yamaha YZF-R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition
Sharing features with the standard YZF-R15M model, the YZF-R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition receives a new digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. It also benefits from Yamaha’s Y-Connect App which offers a wide range of connectivity options and remote access on the rider’s smartphone. Other features include traction control, a side-stand engine inhibitor and a regular quick-shifter.
Powering the YZF-R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition is a 155cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, SOHC, 4-valve engine producing a maximum power of 18.4 PS@10,000 rpm with a torque output of 14.2 Nm@7,500 rpm. The fuel-injected motor with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
In terms of features, the YZF-R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition gets traction control system, a quick-shifter, golden Upside-Down Front Fork, Bluetooth-enabled Yamaha Motorcycle Connect, YZF-R1-inspired LCD instrument cluster with gear shift indicator, Trach and Street Mode and more. In addition, the bike also receives a muffler with 3-stage expansion chamber, dual-channel ABS and linked-type monocross rear suspension.
