Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth is going to make her debut as a director for a Hindi film to be produced by Meenu Aroraa, the producer of the recently released and critically acclaimed Amitabh Bachchan starter, ‘Jhund’. ETimes has learnt that the film is titled ‘Oh Saathi Chal’.

A source close to the project revealed to ETimes, “Aishwarya will be directing her first Hindi film. It is based on a true love story, which was talked about all over the media a few years ago.” When ETimes contacted Meenu Aroraa, she confirmed the news and said, “Yes its true, but I can’t talk much about the project right now, it’s at a nascent stage. We are in the process of scripting right now and then we will finalise the cast.”

Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth recently recovered from Covid-19 and had started work on her new song ‘Musafir’. However, this week she was admitted to the hospital again, after she complained of fever and vertigo. In a social media post Aishwaryaa had recently updated, “Life before covid and post covid …back again in the hospital experiencing fever and vertigo and what not ! But when you get to meet one of the most beautiful inspiring motivational dynamic doctors to come and spend time with you …it doesn’t feel that bad doctor @prithikachary ! What a start to women’s day eve for me to meet with you ! Honour ma’am.” Aishwarya’s post was flooded with ‘get well soon’ messages from fans and celebrities.

Earlier today, Aishwaryaa had shared a post on preferring physical scripts to digital ones. She had posted, “iPad script reading vs paper hard copy📖…any day turning a page hands down! So hard to figure this out! 🙈🧐#oldschoolgirlatheart ! My confused expression caught on camera courtesy ⁦@DOP_VishnuR⁩ 🤦🏻‍♀️..but something interesting coming up 🤞🏼”.

Those in the know have revealed that Aishwaryaa Rajnikanth is likely to make an official announcement about the film tomorrow. Watch this space for more updates.
