Jamie Foxx has returned to the red carpet months after “experiencing a medical complication.”
In a video acquired, the “They Cloned Tyrone” star was seen aboard a boat with a few people on the Chicago River on Sunday.
Foxx, 55, grinned and waved to admirers who approached him.
“Boat life,” he tweeted Sunday evening, his first in months, adding that he was “celebrating summer” with his whiskey company Brown Sugar Bourbon.
“Stay blessed!” Foxx concluded.
The public appearance comes two months after his daughter Corinne Foxx stated that her father is no longer in the hospital and is healing at home after a medical problem.
On May 12, Corinne Foxx posted an “update from the family” on her Instagram account, thanking “everyone’s prayers and support.”
“Sad to see how the media runs wild,” the 29-year-old stated on her Instagram story, where she posted a since-deleted social media image from music website RapTV, alleging the family was “reportedly preparing for the worst” in the aftermath of Foxx’s health crisis.

“My Dad has been out of the hospital for several weeks, recuperating,” she stated. “In fact, he was playing pickleball just the day before yesterday.”

“Thank you for all the love,” he said in his brief message, which featured hands, a heart, and a fox emoji. “I feel blessed.”
The Foxx family shared the medical incident in an Instagram post that has since been removed in April.
“Fortunately, thanks to quick action and excellent care, he is already on his way to recovery,” according to the statement.
“We know how much he is loved and how much he appreciates your prayers.”
The family begs privacy during this difficult time.”
