Why buy laptops for less than Rs. 20,000?
Not everyone needs a laptop to run a razor-ice laptop or high-end PC games. Sometimes there is only one basic laptop to run Skype calls, Word, Excel, or other office applications, or to watch movie or TV shows. Students living in hostels require a basic computer for their assignments and projects for which a budget laptop should be sufficient.
Sometimes you need another computer at home for the basic task of your children and any other family member. Today’s budget laptops are often very good for basic photo editing, which you cannot always do in your phone or tablet.

Acer Aspire 3 (A315-32)
Out of all the laptop tests we have done in less than Rs 20,000, we found that Acer Aspire 3 (A315-32) gets better performance and the best price. It is quite thin, what we liked. The plastic body is well built, there is not much flexibility in the lid or keyboard area. If you can work comfortably, the lid can bend up to 180 degrees.
It is one of the laptops in this segment in which RAM and hard drive can be reached through the lower back for easy upgrades. The laptop will get Windows 10 pre-installed, as well as some work apps that help the drivers and software keep up to date. The laptop is equipped with an Intel Pentium Silver N5000 quad-core CPU, 4 GB RAM, a 1 TB Hard Drive, and Wi-Fi 802.11 AC.
In Tests like file compression and video encoding, Aspire 3 A315-32 took the least time compared to other laptops we tested. Battery life is also good; once charged, you will be able to do more work for your day.
ASPIRE 3 (A315-32) is not a perfect laptop, and the reason behind this is that ACER has given so many specifications in this price segment but has compromised with the display and speakers. The viewing angle is also not the best, and brightness could have been better. Stereo speakers are at the bottom, and when the loud sound of these is heard, the sound does not look a little good.
It is one of the heaviest laptops we tested. Overall, if you want a big screen and low resolution is also not a problem for you, then ASPIRE 3 (A315-32) for Rs. 19,990 can prove to be a great option for you.

Intel Celeron N3350 processor was used in this laptop, which is quite old. The plastic body does not look strong and neither does it give a premium look. This laptop is available in India for Rs 14,990. Asus provides better look laptops in this range.

Our main criterion in this segment was that the laptop should have 10 pre-installed Windows. Many options come with only DOS or free Linux, which are sold at a lower price. Such laptops can prove to be a better option for you only when you have already bought a Windows license or are comfortable with Linux for general web browsing and such tasks.
