"American Idol" contestants weren't the only ones competing Monday night.

For the first time ever, judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan pulled it out in the judges' song contest.

Each judge anonymously chose a song for the top 11 contestants.

Which of the three-song suggestions to the contestants to perform.

The judge who had the most number of singers chose the song of their choice.

But, at the end of a surprising twist, there were more at stake than bragging rights for the judges during the episode.
