Tesla CEO Elon Musk has decided that he will not join the board of social media company Twitter
Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal twittered the news Sunday night.
"Elon's appointment to the board was to come officially effective4/9, but Elon participated that same morning that he'll no longer be joining the board,"
Twitter CEO said that Elon is one of our biggest shareholders and we all respect his decision.
A nonsupervisory form that it plans to appoint the Tesla and SpaceX CEOs to its board for a term that ends in 2024.
Musk denies that he owns more than 9% of Twitter's stake and is Twitter's largest shareholder.
When news of the board appointment broke, Musk tweeted that he "looks forward to working with Parag and the Twitter Board to make significant progress on Twitter in the coming months!"
It is not clear what is going on in Elon's mind, he tweeted a few days ago that Twitter's algorithm should be such that everyone can talk openly.
