Downtown Main Street just became a bit more colorful with the addition of two Philip Burke murals.

Donny Kutzbach and Artie Kwitchoff (Funtime Presents) wanted a bright and colorful splash on the outside of the venue.

Rory Allen of Zoom Copy, who printed and applied the murals, said, "We originally did the marquee for the Town Ballroom."

This collage shows images of music acts that played at the Town Casino in the 1950s.

Patti Smith and Snoop Dogg played the venue back in the day, and they both appear on the images.

Patti Smith reportedly helped to encourage Donnie and Artie to become the Town Ballroom that it is today.

Snoop Dogg is loved by everyone. As we applied the mural, people kept asking when he would be back.

Perhaps a tribute concert will encourage him to do so. He still seems relevant after all these years, even at such an intimate venue.

Rory explained that he worked directly with Philip, who then worked with Donnie and Artie to manage the custom wall dimensions..

The work is digitized, printed, and then applied to the wall by Zoom Copy, Rory said.

As a result of seeing Philip's Goo Goo Dolls mural on Hertel, Artie and Donnie wanted to work with him."

Rory told me that he guarantees the durability of the mural for 5 years, but 3M (the manufacturer of the material) guarantees 11 years.

...and we're even planning to take it on tour to other cities with revered music venues and accomplished musicians.
